John Criste finished sixth in the final of the 200 meter breaststroke.

Omaha, Neb.- Stanford men's swimming continued their impressive meet at day five of the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials. The Cardinal had two athletes finish sixth in the finals of the 100 meter freestyle and the 200 meter breastroke.
In the 100 free Ben Wildman-Tobriner finished sixth after swimming a time of 48.80 seconds. Wildman-Tobriner will now look for automatic qualification to the Olympics in his best event, the 50 free, which opening rounds begin tomorrow.
Swimming in his second final of the competition was John Criste in the 200 meter breaststroke. Criste finished sixth with a time of 2:13.87.
Stanford had three competitors in the 200 meter backstroke. Eugene Godsoe (2:00.97) and Hongzhe Sun (2:01.01) impressed by advancing to the afternoon semi-finals. Peter Marshall also swam in the first round with a time of 2:06.00, but did not advance.
In the afternoon semi-final, Sun finished 11th with a time of 1:59.68, while Godsoe finished 14th with a time of 2:00.86. Neither advanced to tomorrow's final.
Stanford also had three swimmers in the first round of the 200 meter individual medley. Nate Cass led the Cardinal finishing 24th with a time of 2:04.09, while Josh Charnin-Aker (2:05.69) finished 43rd and Scott Lathrope (2:06.20) finished 51st. None of the three advanced to the afternoon semi-final.

Several Stanford swimmers will be back in the pool tomorrow with the first two rounds of the 50 free and the 100 fly. In addition to Wildman-Tobriner in the 50 free, where he enters the meet with the top ranked time will be the 100 fly. In this event Godsoe, Patrick Simpkins, Austin Staab, and former Cardinal Jayme Cramer will look to advance.
