CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - No. 6 Georgia Tech held a 3-1 lead over No. 15 North Carolina in the top of the third inning before heavy rains halted play Friday at Boshamer Stadium. The game will resume at noon Saturday with game three of the series set to begin at 5 p.m. on ESPNU.

Fans will be able to gain admission to both games Saturday with just one ticket.

There were two outs in the inning with the Yellow Jackets' Jeff Kindel at the plate with a 3-2 count and no one on base when play was stopped at 7:51 p.m.

An error and two walks led to a pair of Georgia Tech runs in the first. Third baseman Wes Hodges opened the scoring with an RBI single, and designated hitter Matt Wieters then reached on a fielder's choice to plate the second run.

The Tar Heels cut the lead in half in the bottom of the inning, as shortstop Josh Horton tripled to right center and scored on a Matt Ellington sacrifice fly. Tech quickly got the run back in the top of the second on a run-scoring infield single by shortstop Tyler Greene.

Carolina starter Andrew Miller worked 2.2 innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits, while Tech's Blake Wood gave up one run on three hits over two innings.
