Head coach Thom Glielmi has announced that David Sender, of Arlington Heights, Illinois, has signed a national letter of intent to attend Stanford and compete for the Cardinal next fall.

Sender, a USA Junior National Team member, was part of the bronze medal-winning USA team at the 2003 Pan American Games. In September, Sender finished third in the All-Around competition at the International Juniors Meet in Nagoya, Japan, where he also took event titles on the Still Rings and Vault. He currently trains with Buffalo Grove Gymnastics under Don Osborne.

According to Coach Glielmi, "David is an explosive gymnast with a high level of difficulty. He is an intense competitor and will make an immediate impact on the team, not just on the competition floor, but in the training gym."
