BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- Andrea Riley scored 30 points and led a second-half surge that sent No. 21 Oklahoma State past Colorado 82-71 Saturday night.
The Cowgirls (17-3, 5-2 Big 12) also got 21 points and 13 rebounds from Shaunte Smith and 14 points from Danielle Green in sending the Buffs (13-8, 2-6) to their sixth loss in seven games since winning 11 straight.
Buffs captain Jackie McFarland overcame a rotation of bruising forwards knocking her around under the basket to nearly record the first triple-double in Colorado women's basketball history. She scored 21 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and dished out eight assists, a career best.
Brittany Spears and Aija Putnina each added 14 points for the Buffaloes.
Colorado trailed 58-54 on McFarland's free throw with 7 1/2 minutes left, but Riley hit a jumper and a 3-pointer from beyond NBA range during a 9-3 spurt that the Cowgirls used to take control of the back-and-forth game.
Riley, who tied a season high with nine boards, gave the Cowgirls a 73-61 lead with a 3-pointer with just over two minutes remaining.
The Buffs jumped out to a 19-10 lead on the strength of 3-pointers by Susie Powers, Hannah Skildum and Spears, but the Cowgirls used a 15-2 spurt to get back into it and they led 33-31 at halftime.
Oklahoma State fell behind 44-39 in the opening minutes of the second half before Green hit a 3-pointer and Riley started stringing together baskets that pushed the Cowgirls ahead for good at 49-48.
